New laser system for better kidney stone management

Biorad Medisys unveils the Quantino 20W Thulium Fiber Laser at UROLITHOCON 2026 in Bengaluru, offering a compact, minimally invasive solution for the growing prevalence of kidney stone disease in India.
Bengaluru: Pune-based global medical technology company Biorad Medisys has launched the Quantino 20W Thulium Fiber Laser, a compact laser system designed for kidney stone management, at UROLITHOCON 2026, the annual conference of the Urolithiasis Section of the Urological Society of India (USI) held in Bengaluru.
The launch comes amid a growing burden of kidney stone disease in India. According to studies, nearly 12 percent of the country’s population is expected to develop kidney stones during their lifetime. Experts attribute the increasing incidence to rising temperatures, dehydration, unhealthy dietary habits, and sedentary lifestyles.
With hospitals witnessing a rise in stone-related cases, healthcare providers are increasingly turning to minimally invasive technologies that offer effective treatment, reduced hospital stays, and quicker patient recovery.
