Bengaluru:
The Karnataka government has announced a major boost for job aspirants by planning to complete the appointment of 15,000 primary school teachers and 2,500 IT teachers in government schools within the next 100 days.
An official notification is set to be issued next week, followed by an examination and declaration of results within just two months. The move aims to fill a large part of the existing vacancy of over 80,000 teachers in primary and high schools across the state.
The finance department has already cleared recruitment for 51,000 posts in total, with the first phase focusing on 15,000 positions. These include teachers for primary classes, high schools, physical education, and a dedicated batch of 2,500 information technology teachers to introduce computer education from Class 1 onwards.
The newly appointed teachers are expected to join schools during the current academic year itself. The education department will release detailed information on PSTR, GPSTR, and HSTR posts under the revised CR&R rules.
Officials have urged waiting candidates to begin serious preparation immediately, describing the accelerated timeline as a golden opportunity. (eom)
