80% SIR hearings completed

Special Intensive Revision (SIR)
Hyderabad: With just two days left for the completion of the claims and objections and notice period under the ongoing g Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Hyderabad city, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have stepped up efforts to ensure the collection of documents from voters. So far, over 80 per cent of the hearing process has been completed in Hyderabad district.
BLOs are making door-to-door visits to voters, who are yet to submit their forms. In cases where physical collection is not possible, voters are also being contacted over the phone and asking to submit the required documents digitally. The officials urged the voters to complete their claims and objections within these two days.
According to the Hyderabad District Election Officer, as many as 5,82,217 electors have been flagged under no mapping, while 6,72,700 cases have been identified as anomalies. Notices have been delivered for all 12,54,917 cases. As on October 5, over 80 per cent of hearing is completed in Hyderabad district, with over nine lakh electors found eligible for final publication.
One of the BLOs in Bahadurpura said, “With the help of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) we are making every possible effort to reach voters, who are yet to submit their forms. Wherever required, we are visiting their area and also guiding them over the phone on how to submit the documents digitally,” said a BLO involved in the exercise.
Another BLO in Musheerabad said the teams were working extended hours to complete the pending collection before the notices. In most of the cases, the voters are approaching even during the night hours to submit their documents. “Only two days are left, so we are focusing on voters whose forms and documents are still pending. Our aim is to ensure that no eligible voter is left out due to a lack of information or assistance,” the BLO said.
“With no fixed date of hearing, the process has become much more flexible, and we are asking them to submit digital copies. BLO will take print out of them and attach to their notice copy,” informed an ERO.
Hyderabad DEO RV Karnan urged the voters, who have received notices not to ignore them and to attend the hearings with the necessary documents to safeguard their names in the electoral rolls.
As per the schedule, the last date for filing claims and objections is October 7. All claims and objections must be cleared by November 5 so that the final electoral roll can be published on November 11.
