Govt strengthens healthcare with 607 asst prof appointments

The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) has completed the recruitment of 433 Assistant Professors and four Speech Pathologists for government medical institutions in Telangana. The appointments are expected to strengthen medical education, healthcare services, and human resources across the state's public health sector.

Hyderabad: The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board has completed the recruitment process for 433 Assistant Professor posts across 30 Specialty and Super Specialty Departments under the Directorate of Medical Education. -

The Board released the final selection list of the successful candidates on Wednesday. MHSRB had originally issued an official notification for filling up a total of 607 Assistant Professor posts across 34 departments in various Government Medical Colleges.

The recruitment process for 174 posts in the Departments of Anaesthesiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics had already been completed previously. Appointment orders were recently handed over to those selected candidates by the Health Minister C Damodar Raja Narasimha.

With the release of the latest results, the recruitment process for the remaining 433 Assistant Professor posts in 30 departments has now been fully concluded. In addition, MHSRB has also released the selection list for four Speech Pathologist posts.

Damodar Raja Narasimha congratulated all the selected Assistant Professors and Speech Pathologists, stating that formal appointment orders would be issued to them shortly.

He reiterated that providing quality healthcare services to the people remains the foremost priority of the State Government, noting special emphasis is being given to strengthening human resources in Government Medical Colleges, Teaching Hospitals, and public health institutions.

Recalling the government's sustained efforts, the Minister said that nearly 15,000 posts, including MBBS doctors, specialist doctors, nursing officers, laboratory technicians, and paramedical personnel, have been filled in the Health Department during the last two and a half years. He expressed confidence that these fresh recruitments would significantly strengthen healthcare delivery in hospitals and improve medical education across Telangana.
