Medigadda, not Tummidihetti, only way out for Revanth: BRS

BRS leader asks Congress and BJP to stop political theatrics
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi senior leader B Vinod Kumar on Wednesday stated that Medigadda remains the only viable option for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy rather than the Tummidihetti project, asking both Congress and BJP leaders to stop their political dramas. Addressing a press conference, Vinod Kumar asserted that Revanth Reddy cannot construct Tummidihatti and that Medigadda was the sole alternative.
The Congress government in the then-united Andhra Pradesh had originally proposed constructing the Tummidihetti project at a height of 152 metres. In 2013, the then-Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan wrote to the then-Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, regarding necessary permissions for the 152-metre-high project when Congress held power at the Centre, in Maharashtra, and in united Andhra Pradesh.
Vinod recalled that despite KCR’s repeated requests, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis did not agree to the project under any circumstances, despite intense discussions held over five days in Mumbai.
He questioned how Revanth Reddy could approach the current Maharashtra administration with a confrontational attitude when the project was initially opposed by past Congress governments in Maharashtra and Delhi.
Turning his attention to the BJP, the BRS leader noted that Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar claimed a year ago that he would secure the required permissions within six months, yet nothing has materialised so far.
Highlighting that the Kaleshwaram project is the only functional route forward, Vinod added that Revanth Reddy has already initiated repair works following the visible damage to the Medigadda barrage. BRS party leaders Jogu Ramanna, Methuku Anand, Dafedar Raju, and Praveen Kumar were also present.
