‘Did govt sell Buggapadu Mega Food Park land to private group?’

Khammam: Members of the BJP demanded that the Telangana government disclose details regarding the alleged sale of around 85 acres of land to a private company in the Mega Food Park at Buggapadu village in Sathupalli mandal, Khammam district.
Addressing the media on Sunday, party State spokespersons Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao and Dr Vakadani Pullarao Yadav said reports of the land transaction had raised questions among the public and warranted clarification from the government and concerned authorities. The leaders noted that the Mega Food Park was established with support from the Central government, financial participation from NABARD, and contributions from the State government. “Given the public investment involved,” they said, “the government must ensure complete transparency regarding any transfer or sale of land within the project.” They sought details on whether 85 acres had indeed been sold or allotted to a private entity and, if so, the identity of the company concerned. The BJP leaders also questioned whether the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC/TSIIC) possessed the legal authority to undertake such a transaction.
They asked whether the decision had received approval from the State Cabinet and demanded that relevant government orders, board resolutions, and approvals be placed in the public domain.
The BJP leaders also sought clarification on whether permission had been obtained from the Central government for the transfer of land developed under a project supported by Central and NABARD funds.
Questions were also raised regarding the valuation of the land, with the leaders asking whether the sale price reflected prevailing market rates or whether any concessions had been granted.
The party demanded details on the number of industries established so far in the Mega Food Park and the employment generated through the project, while expressing concern that land originally earmarked for food-processing industries could be diverted from its intended purpose.
Another allegation: Soil
illegally being transported
Meanwhile, the BJP leaders alleged that soil excavated from works related to the Seetharama Project in Sathupalli and Dammapeta mandals was being transported by around 50 tipper trucks and sold in the Wood Park area. They further claimed that nearly 84 acres of land were being levelled and called for an inquiry into the matter.
The leaders urged the government to make public all documents related to the alleged land transaction and to order a thorough investigation into the reported activities, stating that projects developed with public funds and farmers’ land should be administered with complete accountability and transparency.
