Kurnool: A bitter professional feud between two doctors at the Yemmiganur Government Hospital has taken a bizarre turn, with unverified allegations of black magic and occult rituals sparking widespread discussion across the town.
According to sources, Hospital Superintendent Dr Adi Nagesh and anaesthetist Dr Lakshmi Monalisa are locked in a prolonged dispute over administrative issues, reportedly fueled by rivalry regarding the superintendent’s post and promotion-related matters.
The issue escalated dramatically when Dr Adi Nagesh alleged that black magic and occult rituals were performed against him, explicitly pointing fingers at his colleague, Dr Lakshmi Monalisa.
He reportedly claimed that CCTV footage from the hospital premises could substantiate his suspicions.
These allegations remain unverified, pending an impartial inquiry to determine if there is any factual basis or if the claims are merely an extreme extension of their professional differences.
The controversy has deeply unsettled hospital staff and the public.
Observers note the irony of doctors—who are expected to uphold scientific temper and evidence-based medicine—becoming embroiled in disputes involving superstition.
Furthermore, the situation is compounded by allegations that both medical officers are running private clinics in Adoni while holding government posts.
An examination is required to verify these claims and ascertain if they violate government service rules.
As the internal friction risks affecting patient care, hospital staff and local representatives are demanding a comprehensive and transparent probe into all allegations to establish the facts and restore public confidence in the government hospital’s functioning.
