Tirupati police step up aerial monitoring of forests, remote areas
It aims to strengthen law and order and prevent criminal activities at an early stage
Tirupati: Tirupati district police have intensified surveillance across the district by deploying drone cameras and other modern technology to curb anti-social and illegal activities.
The special drive has been launched under the directions of Superintendent of Police L Subba Rayudu as part of efforts to strengthen law and order and prevent criminal activities at an early stage.
According to the police, a comprehensive action plan has been put in place to identify and prevent activities that could disturb public peace.
SP Subba Rayudu said the district police are maintaining continuous surveillance by combining conventional policing with technology driven monitoring to improve crime detection and ensure a quick response.
As part of the initiative, drone cameras are being used to monitor forest areas, remote villages, hill terrain, locations vulnerable to ganja cultivation and other suspicious places across the district.
The aerial surveillance is being carried out alongside regular ground level inspections by police teams, enabling officers to detect illegal activities more effectively and take immediate action before they spread.
The SP said special focus is being placed on preventing ganja cultivation and transportation, illicit liquor manufacturing, gambling and other unlawful activities.
They warned that strict legal action would be taken against individuals involved in such offences. Officials also said they would not tolerate any activity that threatens peace and public safety in the district.
He said that the use of drone technology will help monitor difficult terrain that cannot be covered easily through routine patrolling.
The surveillance system is also expected to improve coordination among police teams and strengthen enforcement in remote areas where illegal activities are often reported.
Appealing for public cooperation, Subba Rayudu said maintaining law and order is a shared responsibility and that timely information from citizens plays a key role in preventing crime.
He urged people to immediately report any suspicious persons or illegal activities by calling Dial 112 or informing the nearest police station. The SP assured that the identity of those sharing information would be kept completely confidential.
He reiterated that the district police are committed to maintaining peace and public safety and warned that anyone found violating the law would face strict legal action.
