A fleet of Green Metro AC buses to reach Vizag depots shortly

Visakhapatnam: The public transport system in Visakhapatnam district is set for a major modernisation with the arrival of Green Metro air-conditioned buses. The APSRTC Visakhapatnam is taking steps to deploy a new fleet of buses on various routes to provide passengers with a more convenient and modern travel experience.

According to the APSRTC officials, these buses have been introduced in Andhra Pradesh for the first time. As part of the endeavour, APSRTC Visakhapatnam Regional Manager B Appala Naidu inspected a Green Metro AC bus that arrived atthe Gajuwaka depot and examined its technical features.

Speaking to The Hans India, Appala Naidu said that 30 Green Metro AC buses will reach the Gajuwaka depot by September-end. Another 50 such AC buses are expected to reach the Simhapuri depot by October, he informed.

The new fleet of buses will be introduced on different routes after registration and required permissions are complete. Each bus has a seating capacity of 35 passengers, besides space for standing passengers during rush hours. The modern buses are equipped with four CCTV cameras, automatic doors and air suspension technology. The air suspension system is expected to offer a smoother and more comfortable journey for people.
