Couple found dead in their residence at Srinagar

Visakhapatnam: Ina tragic incident, a couple was found dead in their residence at Srinagar area behind Rama Talkies in Visakhapatnam.
The deceased were identified as Balaram (33), a welder, and his wife Priyanka (27), residents of Kalingapatnam in Srikakulam district, who had migrated to the city in search of livelihood.
According to police, the couple was living in Srinagar along with their four-year-old son and Priyanka’s mother.
The police informed that Balaram was addicted to alcohol and the couple engaged in frequent quarrels. Previously, Priyanka had reportedly approached the police on several occasions alleging harassment by her husband due to his drinking habit.
On Sunday night, Priyanka’s mother left the house at around 10 p.m. to bring Biryani for Balaram as he forced her to buy.
Upon her return, they were found dead at the residence, while their boy was crying.
Shocked to see her daughter lying on the floor and son-in-law hanging from the ceiling, she alerted the neighbours, who informed the police immediately.
Responding to the information received, the Night Rounds Crime Sub-Inspector and police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary inquiry. Police suspected that Balaram would have committed suicide after killing his wife.
Police officials stated that the family appeared to be facing financial difficulties and are examining all possible angles behind their deaths. A case has been registered, and the investigation is in progress.
The couple’s bodies were shifted to the King George Hospital (KGH) mortuary for post-mortem examination.
