Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday unveiled a series of outreach programmes across the Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency to commemorate 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre.

Addressing a meeting of BJP district and mandal presidents at Chaitanyapuri in Karimnagar, Bandi Sanjay reviewed the activities planned as part of the celebrations and called upon party workers to actively participate in initiatives aimed at strengthening government school education.

With government schools scheduled to reopen on June 15, he urged party cadres to ensure that school premises were cleaned and made ready for students. As part of the constituency-wide ‘Swachh Pathshala’ campaign on June 13, BJP workers will clean government primary, upper primary and high schools across all villages in the seven Assembly segments.

The Minister directed party leaders to hold mandal-level meetings on June 10 and appoint in-charges for individual schools. He also asked workers to organise ‘Tiffin Baithak’ meetings in villages on June 11 and 12 to mobilise public participation. Volunteers have been advised to clean classrooms, improve school surroundings and create a welcoming atmosphere for students ahead of the new academic session.

Bandi Sanjay further announced that free branded bicycles would once again be distributed to Class 10 students studying in government schools under the ‘Modi Gift’ programme. He said efforts would be made to conduct the distribution simultaneously across the constituency and on a scale large enough to seek recognition in the Guinness World Records.

To mark the occasion, he will also offer special prayers at the Mahashakti Temple in Karimnagar on Wednesday.
