Collector calls for corporate-level education in government schools

Nirmal District Collector Bhavesh Mishra spearheads an extensive high-level administrative review ahead of the June 15 government school reopening. Discover the new stringent action plans tracking mandated sanitation drives, Class 10 academic benchmarks, and strict mess monitoring frameworks.

Khanapur: District Collector Bhavesh Mishra directed officials to ensure that students studying in government educational institutions received corporate-level education along with better facilities and nutritious food. He emphasised that government schools should provide a learning environment that helped students develop skills and compete with the best educational standards.

Reviewing preparations ahead of the reopening of schools on June 15, the Collector held a meeting with education department officials at the Collectorate on Tuesday. He noted that the distribution of textbooks to mandals was almost complete and instructed officials to implement a special action plan to further improve Class 10 examination results this academic year.

The Collector directed authorities to undertake extensive sanitation drives in schools, hostels and kitchens to maintain cleanliness. He stressed that students must be served quality meals every day as per the approved menu. Officials were instructed to inspect hostel food stocks and ensure that expired or substandard items were not used.

Highlighting the importance of mess committees, Mishra said students should actively participate in monitoring food quality and hygiene standards. He also instructed cooking staff to maintain personal hygiene by wearing masks, aprons and head caps, while ensuring proper cleaning of utensils and disposal of waste.

The Collector further directed officials to remain vigilant during the rainy season and ensure the availability of ANMs in hostels to monitor students’ health. Additional Collector B. Venkateshwarlu, District Education Officer Bhojanna and officials from various welfare departments attended the meeting.
