Major accident averted after Molten steel spill at Vizag Steel Plant

Another incident has occurred at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant as Molten steel spilled onto the floor from a ladle at the Argon Rinsing Station within the SMS-1 (Steel Melting Shop-1) unit. Fortunately, a major disaster was averted as no one was present in the area at the time.
The incident reportedly took place around 5:30 AM on Thursday. Staff were alerted when the molten steel, which is at an extremely high temperature, suddenly spilled out of the ladle. A major tragedy was narrowly avoided because no workers or staff were in the vicinity; otherwise, there could have been a significant loss of life.
Following the incident, plant safety personnel and technical experts immediately arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. An inquiry into the cause of the molten steel leakage is reportedly underway.
