Orientation programme on revised BPT curriculum held

Vijayawada: Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr NTR UHS) here on Tuesday conducted an orientation programme on the revised Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) curriculum notified by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) with an emphasis on its uniform implementation across affiliated colleges.

The programme was jointly inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Dr P Chandrasekhar and Registrar Dr T Sai Sudheer in the presence of Dr V Radhika Reddy, Additional Director of Medical Education (Academic); Dr Ch Sreekanth, Controller of Examinations; Yalamanchili Venkateswara Rao, chairperson, Bheema Sumila, Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh State Allied and Healthcare Professions Council; Dr M Lakshmi Surya Prabha, Director (Research & Development); Dr K Sudha, Director (Publications); K Neelima, Joint Registrar (Academic); and principals of 69 affiliated physiotherapy colleges.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Chandrasekhar stressed the importance of implementing the revised curriculum uniformly to improve the quality of physiotherapy education and align academic standards with the guidelines prescribed by the NCAHP. Registrar Dr Sai Sudheer urged affiliated colleges to adopt the revised curriculum effectively and maintain close coordination with the University to ensure high academic standards and better learning outcomes for students. Dr Radhika Reddy, Yalamanchili Venkateswara Rao and Bheema Sumila shared their views on adopting the curriculum across affiliated institutions.
