Several injures after a travels bus overturns in Gannavaram

A ghastly road accident occurred near Gannavaram in Krishna district where a Travels bus plying from Chennai to Visakhapatnam overturned on the central divider of National Highway-16 near Telaprolu in Unguturu Mandal leaving twelve passengers injured.

Upon the information, locals along with the police arrived the spot and rescued the injured from the bus and shifted them to the Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Hospital in Outapalli. It is alleged that that a lorry coming from the opposite direction hit the bus which had overturned on the divider, while trying to avoid it. The lorry driver suffered severe injuries to his legs and was also taken to the hospital.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident. They have also facilitated the restoration of traffic on the National Highway, which faced a long backup due to the accident.
