Born on 1st August 1992 in Dhule, Maharashtra, actress Mrunal Thakur was raised in a Marathi speaking family. After studying in Jalgaon, Mrunal shifted to Mumbai for higher studies. However, the bubbly actress decided to give up on college and concentrate on television and films, which in turn turned out to be the right decision.
She made her television debut in 2012 with a guest appearance on the show ‘Mujhse Kuchh Kehti… Yeh Khamoshiyaan ’. However, it was the show ‘Kumkum Bhagya ’ that made Mrunal a household name. She essayed the role of second lead Bulbul Arora Khanna on the Zee TV serial and gained massive popularity. In fact, she bagged the coveted ITA Award for her performance in the show.
Apart from television shows, Mrunal has also participated in reality shows like Nach Baliye 7 and the Box Cricket League.
With stupendous success on television, Muraln forayed into films. She made her big screen debut with Marathi cinema before signing on for ‘Love Sonia ’ (2018). The film, which dealt with the pertinent issue of human trafficking, did not find much success with the audiences. However, Mrunal’s performance was quite praiseworthy, garnering critical acclaim and awards.Thereafter, she appeared in other Marathi movies, including the drama Duniya Dilli .
Later in 2019, Mrunal made her Hindi debut with Super 30, a biographical drama film starring Hrithik Roshan. Super 30 turned out to be a massive hit and marked the actress’s entry into Bollywood. She thereafter appeared in Batla House with John Abraham in the same year.
In 2020, Mrunal starred in various movies, such as Ghost Stories , Toofaan , and Dhamaka . Although these films were either commercially or critically underwhelming, the actress received praise for her performances. In addition, Mrunal made her Telugu debut with Sita Ramam , where she played the lead role alongside Dulquer Salmaan. The actress’s performance received massive applause, and Sita Ramam turned out to be a massive hit in the Telugu film circuit. In addition, the film earned Mrunal the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu.
Besides Sita Ramam , Mrunal Thakur also appeared in Hi Nanna , starring alongside Nani. The actress’s performances in the film were highly appreciated, and Hi Nanna turned out to be a commercial success.
