IIIT Bangalore Hosts Fire Safety Awareness and Emergency Preparedness Program

IIIT-B partners with ELCIA and the National Safety Council to conduct a major fire safety and emergency preparedness workshop for over 110 industry professionals in Electronics City.
Bengaluru: The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) recently hosted a Fire Safety Awareness and Emergency Preparedness Program at its Electronics City campus, organized by the Electronic City Industries Association (ELCIA) in collaboration with the National Safety Council of India, Karnataka Chapter.
The program was aimed at strengthening workplace safety awareness and promoting emergency preparedness across industries and organizations through comprehensive fire safety training and practical demonstrations.
The session brought together over 110 participants from 38 organizations, including industry representatives, facility managers, association members, and maintenance personnel. The training focused on key aspects of fire prevention, workplace hazard awareness, emergency response strategies, evacuation procedures, and the effective use of fire safety equipment.
A major highlight of the program was the live fire extinguisher demonstration, which provided participants with valuable hands-on experience in managing fire emergencies. The interactive session reinforced the importance of preparedness, prevention, and timely action in ensuring workplace safety.
The training was conducted by experts from the National Safety Council of India, Karnataka Chapter, including P.C. Venkateshwarlu, Secretary; V. Srinivasa; and Chandrashekhar, Joint Secretary, who shared expert insights on fire prevention, risk mitigation, and emergency response protocols. Representatives from several leading organizations participated in the program, including IIIT-B, Clay Works, C-DAC, Brady Company India Pvt. Ltd., Biocon Limited, Tata Advanced Systems Limited, Tech Mahindra, XIME College, Tejas Networks Limited, TUV Rheinland, Siemens, HCL Tech, and others.
