World Happiness summit brings together voices on happiness, health and purpose
Bengaluru: The World Happiness Summit concluded at New Horizon College of Engineering in Bengaluru following a day-long programme focused on wellbeing, personal fulfilment and the role of happiness in everyday life.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and an invocation. Former IPS officer Dr. Kiran Bedi addressed the fundamentals of happiness, while actor Arjun Kapoor spoke about factors that influence personal happiness. A panel discussion on success and happiness featured Govind Mahtani, Shareen, Nikhil Kamath and Hema Sardesai.
Organised by Happpy AiR – Atman in Ravi, the event brought together speakers and participants from entertainment, public life, entrepreneurship, spirituality, wellness and social leadership. Discussions centred on three themes identified by the organisers as Pleasure, Peace and Purpose.
Another panel examined the concept of manifestation and happiness, with participation from Dr. Amiett Kumar, Tarun Mishra, Rohit Khandelwal and Bhupendra Singh. Dr. Saamdu Chetri, associated with Bhutan’s Gross National Happiness framework, spoke about broader approaches to assessing wellbeing beyond conventional economic indicators.
The afternoon sessions included entrepreneur and motivational speaker Sonu Sharma on maintaining happiness in daily life and Aisshwarya DKS on the science of happiness. A panel featuring Sruthi Hariharan, Preetika Rao, Archika Sudhanshu, Dr. Aadhyaa Kumar and Renuka Goswami discussed different perspectives on developing a positive and balanced approach to life.
Actor Shilpa Shetty delivered a session on three aspects of lasting happiness, touching on gratitude, health, family and personal wellbeing.
The summit also featured Champion Awards, recognising individuals and organisations for initiatives related to positive workplace environments and employee wellbeing.
In his concluding remarks, Atman in Ravi said the discussions were intended to encourage people to view happiness as an ongoing part of daily life rather than solely as an outcome of achievement. Dr. Kiran Bedi highlighted self-reflection, personal responsibility and viewing challenges as opportunities for learning. Arjun Kapoor spoke about the relationship between achievement, inner peace and purpose, while Shilpa Shetty emphasised gratitude and personal connections.
