Bengaluru-based Dr. Trupti Das has been selected for the prestigious Advanced Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic

Bengaluru: A Bengaluru-based interventional radiologist Dr Trupti Das has been selected for the Advanced Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in the United States for the 2026-2028 academic cycle.

What makes the achievement particularly noteworthy is that Dr Das is the only doctor selected worldwide for the programme's lone fellowship position this year, securing a place in one of the most competitive training programmes in the field of interventional radiology.

The Cleveland Clinic is among the world's leading healthcare institutions, ranked second in the United States in the 2025-26 U.S. News & World Report rankings and third globally in Newsweek's 2026 list of the World's Best Hospitals.

Dr Das comes from a family deeply rooted in medicine. She is the daughter of Hassan-based diagnostic specialist Dr Devadas H.R. of Anand Das Diagnostic Lab and radiologist Dr K.V. Sujatha of Das Scanning Centre. She is married to Dr Abhishek Hariharan Kandluri and is the daughter-in-law of healthcare entrepreneurs Dr Jothi Neeraja and Dr Upendra Kumar Kandluri, founders of the People Tree Hospitals network and MAARGA Mind Care.

An outstanding student throughout her academic career, Dr Das secured top ranks during her MBBS and later earned a university rank while completing her MD in Radio Diagnosis under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She subsequently underwent DNB training in Interventional Radiology, a highly specialised super-speciality discipline.

Her professional credentials include a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) and certification from the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR), qualifications held by only a limited number of Indian specialists.

Interventional radiology is an advanced branch of medicine that uses imaging technologies to perform minimally invasive procedures for treating conditions such as cancer, vascular disorders and other complex diseases. The specialty has emerged as an effective alternative to conventional surgery in many cases.

Dr Das has also contributed extensively to medical research, with several papers published in national and international journals. Medical experts note that her selection reflects excellence in academics, clinical expertise and research.

She will spend the next two years at Cleveland Clinic receiving advanced training in cancer interventions, vascular procedures and image-guided therapies. Members of the medical fraternity described her achievement as a matter of pride for Karnataka and an inspiration for young doctors aspiring to pursue specialised careers in medicine.
