Food court sealed by authorities after inspectors determined stale biryani and rat burrows, raising severe food safety concerns.

A food court sealed in Gachibowli has been ordered after officials uncovered severe food safety violations during an examination on Wednesday, June 24. The establishment, Zayaka Food Court, situated adjoined near AMB Mall, was found operating under highly unsanitary conditions. It can endorse the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation to suspend its Food Safety and Standards Authority of India licence.

According to the CMC, food safety inspection discovered a rat infestation at the premises. It includes the rat burrows, droppings in storage space areas and bite marks on food packages. Authorities also found spoiled vegetables, stale chicken biryani, and food products stored in a non-functional freezer. Officials noted that food products were not correctly segregated, while egg mayonnaise was being stored under inappropriate conditions. The organisation also had a shortage of medical fitness certificates for staff and had no records of pest control calculations.

The corporation has directed the food court to stop operations right away and stated that business can recommence just after a fresh inspection and the revocation of the licence suspension.

In a separate examination, officials also found out the hygiene violations at Protein Chef in Madhapur, situated behind CGR School. The opening had an unclean freezer containing stale and uncovered food, increasing the danger of cross-contamination. Inspectors also noticed improper thawing of frozen products, open dustbins near the cooking area, poor cleaning standards and insufficient drain maintenance.

Meanwhile, the health department action noted that Protein Chef had proper separation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food and had executed pest control measures. Officials said surprise inspections will carry on across Cyberabad to make sure about the food establishments follow the hygiene and proper safety regulations.
