Whose silt is it anyway? GHMC ditches drain cleaning work at Ramnagar Gundu…!
In Short
- Residents urge GHMC authorities to immediately clear leftover silt from drain cleaning operations and level drain covers to prevent traffic jams and accidents in Ramnagar Gundu.

Whose silt is it anyway? GHMC ditches drain cleaning work at Ramnagar Gundu…!
Silt has been left on the main road of Ramnagar Gundu (in front of Pride Institute of Hotel Management) by GHMC workers, after cleaning the drain. This is a common sight on many streets of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. After cleaning, GHMC workers should put the silt on the side of the pavement/road and inform personnel in “silt collection van” to clear it immediately.
Also, I urge the authorities to bring the drain cover to the road level to avoid skidding or bumping of vehicles resulting in accidents.
Otherwise, all the good work (of cleaning etc.) of GHMC goes waste. Besides, silt on the road can create traffic jams and spread diseases.
