Implement govt schemes effectively, urges Aruna
Mahabubnagar: Members of Parliament DK Aruna directed officials to ensure effective implementation of Central government schemes so that eligible beneficiaries receive the intended benefits. She reviewed the progress of schemes and development works department-wise at a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) on Tuesday.
Aruna directed officials to select one village in each of the three Assembly constituencies in the district and implement the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana on a pilot basis. She asked the TGSPDCL Superintending Engineer to encourage rooftop solar power systems and take up the programme in villages where sarpanches come forward.
The MP directed officials to complete drinking water supply works being undertaken under the AMRUT scheme in municipalities by December.
She called for awareness programmes for farmers and women’s self-help groups on the use of drones for spraying pesticides. She also stressed the promotion of natural farming and advised officials to encourage farmers to cultivate diversified crops that have market demand, keeping in view Mahabubnagar district’s proximity to Hyderabad.
The MP further directed officials to send proposals through tahsildars for allotment of government land to Anganwadi centres that do not have their own buildings.
She asked officials to expedite the construction of Anganwadi, VO and Gram Panchayat buildings being taken up with VBG Ramji funds.
