NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhara Babu inspects Indrakeeladri and surrounding zones to review security and crowd control for Dasara Navaratri.

Vijayawada: With preparations gathering pace for the annual Dasara Sarannavarathri Mahotsavams at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri here, NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhara Babu on Monday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the temple premises and surrounding areas to review security and crowd management arrangements.

Accompanied by Temple Executive Officer VK Seena Naik, senior police officers and temple officials, the Commissioner assessed the preparedness to ensure that lakhs of devotees can have a safe, smooth and hassle-free darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga during the nine-day festival.

During the inspection, the Commissioner reviewed arrangements at key locations, including parking areas, holding zones, queue lines, barricading points, the Vijayawada Railway Station, bus stands, Krishna River bathing ghats and prasadam distribution counters. Later, the Commissioner chaired a review meeting with police and temple authorities.

NTR District Police Commissionerate West Zone DCP G Ramakrishna, Vijayawada West ACP Durgarao, One Town Inspector G Gunaram, Bhavanipuram Inspector Uma Maheswara Rao, besides officials and staff of the temple administration were present.
