Endowments Commissioner K Ramachandra Mohan inspects development works atop Indrakeeladri, setting an August 15 deadline for the new Annaprasadam complex and Laddu Potu.

Vijayawada: Endowments Department Commissioner K Ramachandra Mohan on Monday conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing development works at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada, with a focus on enhancing facilities for the lakhs of devotees visiting the temple every year.

During inspection, the Commissioner reviewed the progress of the new Laddu Potu (prasadam preparation centre) and state-of-the-art Annaprasadam building, both of which are being constructed as priority projects. He examined the quality of construction, electrification works and the infrastructure being created to facilitate the smooth distribution of free meals to devotees.

Later speaking to the media, Ramachandra Mohan expressed satisfaction over the pace of construction and directed engineering officials and contractors to complete all civil, engineering and finishing works by August 15. He made it clear that there should be no compromise on construction quality or pilgrim convenience.

The Commissioner said the temple administration is planning to inaugurate both buildings during the upcoming Sravana Masam, when the temple witnesses a heavy influx of devotees.

The new Annaprasadam complex, he said, will significantly improve the free meal distribution system, while the modern Laddu Pottu will substantially enhance the temple’s capacity to prepare and distribute laddus without shortages during peak seasons.
