Visakhapatnam: Rear Admiral Gokul Krishna Dutta assumed charge as the Chief Staff Officer (Personnel and Administration) at Eastern Naval Command headquarters.
Commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1, 1993, the Flag Officer held various specialist roles afloat and ashore in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Information Technology Projects and Data Analytics including afloat logistics appointments onboard state-of-the-art frontline Ships INS Sutlej, INS Talwar and INS Shivalik.
He also served extensively at Material Organisations (MOs) in Mumbai and Sri Vijaya Puram including as head of MO (Mumbai).
The Flag Officer has also held key staff appointments such as CSO (P&A) at Southern Naval Command, Director of Procurement, System Analyst and Project Director for Integrated Logistics Management System at NHQ.
Earlier, the Flag Officer headed the Faculty of Management Studies at INS Hamla.
He was heading the Directorate of Administration at Naval Headquarters prior to assuming his present appointment on August 1 in Visakhapatnam. Rear Admiral Gokul Krishna Dutta was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2024 for his distinguished and meritorious service.
