Visakhapatnam: Sainik School Korukonda organised a farewell function to honour D. Vijaya Kumar, office superintendent, in recognition of his distinguished and dedicated service spanning more than four decades to the institution.

The programme brought together the entire school fraternity to express its deep gratitude for Vijaya Kumar’s invaluable contributions. His unwavering commitment, professionalism, integrity and exemplary work ethic played a significant role in the efficient functioning and steady growth of Sainik School Korukonda over the years.

D. Vijaya Kumar joined Sainik School Korukonda as a lower division clerk in October 1985. Through hard work, perseverance and exceptional dedication, he rose through the ranks to become office superintendent, earning the admiration and respect of officers, colleagues, staff and generations of employees. Throughout his illustrious career, he remained a pillar of the school’s administrative establishment, serving with sincerity, humility and an unwavering sense of duty.

The ceremony was attended by Vijaya Kumar’s family members, Principal Gp Capt S. S. Shastri, Vice Principal Wg Cdr Kiran V, administrative officer Sqn Ldr Athul John Thomas, their families, academic staff, administrative staff, NCC and APTC personnel, and all cadets of the school, reflecting the profound respect and affection he earned across the institution.

The programme featured speeches from representatives of the cadets, academic staff and administrative staff, who fondly recalled Sri Vijaya Kumar’s dedication, guidance and enduring contribution to the school. Their addresses highlighted his professionalism, kindness, meticulous work ethic and readiness to support every member of the school community.
