WARANGAL: A new executive committee of the English Language Teachers Association (ELTA), Mahabubabad district, was elected on Monday to strengthen English language teaching and promote the professional development of teachers.
The election was conducted under the chairmanship of ELTA State president and election officer T. Venkateswara Rao, while P. Srinivas supervised the proceedings. Bayagani Ram Mohan was elected district president and Bethi Satyanarayana general secretary.
S. Saidulu Reddy and V. Shyamala Devi were elected vice-presidents; B. Venkateswarlu and Ch. Anitha, joint secretaries; G. Satish Reddy, treasurer; Sanbon Anthony D’Souza and Shibarani, state council members; B. Lachhu, media in-charge; and B. Suresh Kumar and K. Ashok, secretaries.
Congratulating the newly elected office-bearers, T. Venkateswara Rao urged them to work collectively for the advancement of English education in the district. He stressed the need to encourage innovative teaching practices, improve teachers’ professional skills and create better opportunities for students to develop their communication skills.
Ram Mohan thanked the ELTA leadership and district English teachers for their support. He said the new committee would organise professional development programmes, share effective teaching practices and work for the overall improvement of English education in Mahabubabad.
