Shakambari Navaratri enters 13th day at Bhadrakali Temple; Viswaroopa Darshan on July 29

WARANGAL: The Shakambari Navaratri Mahotsavams at the historic Sri Bhadrakali Ammavari Devasthanam in Ekashilanagaram, the erstwhile Kakatiya capital, reached the 13th day on Monday and continued with religious fervour.

Special rituals and Tithi Mandala Devata Yagnas were performed in accordance with Vedic traditions. Following the daily morning rituals, the Utsava idols of the Goddess were adorned in ‘Matra’ form symbolising Ichha Shakti as per the Kali tradition, and in ‘Sarvamangala’ form representing Jnana Shakti under the Shodashi tradition.

Temple chief priest Bhadrakali Sheshu explained that Manmatha is the presiding deity of Trayodashi Tithi, and the five elements (Pancha Bhootas) emerged from the Pancha Tanmatras. He noted that the Goddess pervades the entire creation in the form of sound, touch, form, taste and smell. Sarvamangala Nitya Devi, the source of all sensory energies, blesses devotees with auspiciousness, he added.

Viswaroopa Darshan on July 29

Temple authorities announced that the Shakambari alankaram, using a variety of leafy greens, vegetables and fruits, will begin at 3 am on Wednesday (July 29) and continue till 9 am. As the decoration process will last for about six hours, darshan will not be available during this period.

After completion of rituals, devotees will be allowed for Shakambari Viswaroopa Darshan from 9 am onwards, which will continue till night. Separate queues for Sarva Darshan, Special Darshan, Atisheegra Darshan and Dharma Darshan have been arranged for the convenience of devotees.

Security arrangements reviewed

In view of the expected heavy turnout, temple Executive Officer Ramala Sunitha, chief priests Bhadrakali Sheshu and Harnath, along with Mattewada CI Karunakar, SIs and police personnel, reviewed arrangements related to security, traffic regulation and queue management.

Mahotsav to conclude with Maha Poornahuti

The festival will conclude on July 29 with Vyasa Puja, Maha Poornahuti, Bali Pradanam and Avabhrutha Snanam at 11 am.

Dignitaries visit temple

Senior IAS officer Sunitha of Andhra Pradesh cadre, along with her spouse, visited the temple on Monday. Actor Gattamaneni Jaikrishna of ‘Srinivasa Mangapuram’ fame, director Ajay Bhupathi and members of the film unit also offered special prayers.

The priests blessed the visitors and presented them with the Goddess’ Sesha Vastras. Temple EO Ramala Sunitha and chief priest Bhadrakali Sheshu welcomed them with temple honours and offered Teertha Prasadam.
