Colourful start for Kaloji birth centenary festival

Adilabad: Veteran poet, freedom fighter and socialist Kaloji Narayana Rao’s birth centenary celebrations were launched in the town and other places in the district on a grand note on Monday. Telangana Writers’ Forum (TWF), TJAC and other organizations conducted several programmes to mark the occasion. As part of the programme, hundreds of students in private and government schools took a pledge to follow the principles of the great writer. Meetings were held in Adilabad, Nirmal, Khanapur, Bhainsa, Utnoor, Asifabad, Kagaznagar, Bellampalli, Mandamarri and Chennur.
Karimnagar: Members of TWF organised a pledge taking programme by hundreds of students in the town and other places in the district on Monday to mark the launching of birth centenary of legendary writer Kaloji Narayana Rao. The programmes were held at Alphores eTechno School, Kothapalli, Trinity School, Peddapalli, Government Girls High School, Siricilla, and at several other schools in various towns in the district.
TWF district unit president Gajoju Nagabhushanam and other speakers recalled the literary services of Kaloji for the well being of downtrodden and weaker sections. The TWF (also known as Telangana Rachayitala Vedika) district secretary Burla Venkateswarlu, at a programme held at Alphores eTechno School, urged the students to follow the principles and ideals of the great writer. Alphores Institutions Principal Mrs Aruna, Vice-Principal Rajendra Prasad, teachers and several others participated.
