Godavari recedes at Bhadrachalam, second warning lifted

The Godavari river, which was at a very high level, has started to recede. The inflow to Bhadrachalam has started to taper. As of 10 a.m. on Sunday, the level of the water in the river was 46.7 feet, and the outflow was 1.083 million cusecs.

The authorities have lifted the second danger warning as the outflow tapered. However, a first-level danger warning was still in place. The authorities expect the outflow to taper further by evening.

The residents in Bhadrachalam, Dummugudem, Charla and Burgampad mandals, where waters have receded from roads, have heaved a sigh of relief as traffic resumed in the area. Flood waters that had entered the houses in the Sarapaka and Mothe villages in Burgampad mandal are also reportedly receding.
