Over 13 Million Patients Availed AYUSH Services in Telangana in Five Years, Centre Tells Lok Sabha

Khammam: More than 13 million people have availed treatment through AYUSH healthcare facilities in Telangana over the past five years, with all sanctioned centres under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) currently functioning, the Centre informed the Lok Sabha on Friday.

The information was provided by Union Minister of State for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav in a written reply to a question raised by Khammam MP Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy regarding the status of AYUSH medical services in the state.

According to the minister, 421 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) sanctioned under the National AYUSH Mission in Telangana are operational and providing healthcare services across the state, including in rural areas.

The minister said 38,33,738 patients received treatment through AYUSH facilities in 2021, followed by 23,58,802 in 2022, 29,13,265 in 2023, 20,61,093 in 2024 and 18,58,894 in 2025.

In all, 1,30,25,792 patients benefited from AYUSH services in Telangana during the five-year period, the reply stated.

The Centre said the National AYUSH Mission aims to strengthen traditional systems of medicine by expanding access to healthcare and creating awareness about Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) alongside conventional allopathic treatment, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

The government added that the operational AYUSH centres are contributing to improved access to integrated healthcare services and promoting greater public awareness of traditional medical systems across Telangana.
