Telangana Government to set up ‘speed cell’ for effective grounding of welfare schemes in state

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to establish a ‘Speed Cell’ for the implementation of the welfare schemes effectively. The government would also develop a ‘dashboard’ to provide detailed information regarding the progress, targets, and implementation status of government programmes.

At a meeting with Secretaries of various departments, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy would soon hold a review meeting regarding the government's flagship schemes, departments’ performance, targets, progress, the state's financial status, and Centrally sponsored schemes, and were advised to prepare accordingly. They were asked to compile reports on innovative schemes and success stories being implemented in their respective departments.

The Chief Secretary instructed the officials to give emphasis on the timely submission of utilisation certificates, reports, and proposals to the Central Government to facilitate the release of Central funds early. He emphasised the need for coordination among various departments to ensure the more robust implementation of the government's prestigious development schemes and welfare programs.

The Chief Secretary stressed that internal coordination among departments is essential for the efficient implementation of the numerous development and welfare programmes currently underway in the state, in line with the Chief Minister's vision.

He also said that T-Fiber connectivity must be secured for all government offices and Gram Panchayats across the state. Officials were instructed to work systematically in alignment with the specific targets outlined in the government's 'Vision Document-2047'.

Instructions were issued to constitute various committees for the successful conduct of the prestigious 'Khelo India' games, scheduled to begin in the state on November 14. It was announced that the event would feature competitions across 26 sports disciplines at 11 venues, with the participation of over 7,000 athletes, officials, and coaches.

In accordance with the Chief Minister's directive to reduce vehicular pollution, officials were asked to accelerate the scheme for retrofitting electric engines into diesel-powered auto-rickshaws.

The Chief Secretary suggested creating awareness among farmers about alternative crops, noting that sufficient water for the paddy crop would not be available in the state due to the impact of El Niño.
