Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has completed admissions to its Ph.D. programmes for the 2026–27 academic year, filling 170 of the 185 available seats across 27 subjects, achieving an admission rate of 91.89%.

The admission process was conducted through the University's entrance examination followed by interviews. The entrance tests were held on June 6 and 7, 2026, at seven centres across the country, while interviews took place between July 9 and 11. Candidates were shortlisted based on their combined performance in the written examination and interview, with admissions conducted on July 30.

The University stated that the remaining Ph.D. admissions for 17 subjects will be based on UGC-NET and CSIR-UGC-NET scores. The admission process for these programmes will begin after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announces the results.

Earlier this month, the University concluded admissions to its postgraduate (PG) programmes across 42 subjects. Between July 13 and 17, a total of 1,201 students were admitted against 1,463 available seats, resulting in an admission rate of 82.09%.

Candidates for the PG programmes were shortlisted based on their performance in the CUET-PG 2026 examination, with counselling conducted using a 1:10 shortlist ratio. The University said candidates who attended counselling and completed the admission formalities would be considered for waitlist admissions against category-wise vacant seats, wherever applicable.

The next phase of admissions will cover undergraduate and integrated master's programmes across 17 subjects. These admissions are scheduled to take place on August 13 and 14, 2026.

The University will publish the list of shortlisted candidates on its official website on August 3, based on their performance in the CUET-UG 2026 examination.
