‘Cockroach politics’ cannot halt India’s growth: Lanka Dinakar

Vijayawada: Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Twenty Point Programme (Viksit Bharat–Swarna Andhra Pradesh) Implementation Committee Lanka Dinakar has asserted that “cockroach politics” would not be able to obstruct India’s economic growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Referring to India’s economic performance, Dinakar said the country has recorded a 7.7 per cent growth rate during the 2025-26 financial year, and 7.8 per cent growth in the January-March quarter despite global instability caused by the West Asia conflict and the prolonged Russia-Ukraine war.

According to him, India has sustained consistent growth despite global supply-chain disruptions and economic uncertainty because of the policy framework established by Modi. Targeting opposition parties, Dinakar alleged that certain political forces were unable to digest the public support for the NDA government. They were thus trying to create confusion through divisive campaigns. Towards this, they were attempting to influence young people and create unrest by spreading negative narratives. The BJP leader took aim at participants in the Cockroach Janta Party programme in Delhi, alleging that several individuals associated with protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), abrogation of Article 370 and abolition of triple talaq. Dinakar further accused the Congress and its allies of trying to regain political relevance after repeated electoral defeats by misleading younger voters. He alleged that opposition parties were attempting to exploit Gen Z through politics based on negativity and disruption.

However, he argued that India’s youth had repeatedly demonstrated political maturity, as proved by the recent election verdicts. Young voters prefer development, stability and governance over divisive political campaigns, he asserted.
