Bookings open for Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift ahead of its July 24 launch

Maruti Suzuki has kick-started bookings for the upcoming Brezza facelift ahead of its official launch on July 24, giving customers an early opportunity to reserve the updated compact SUV. Buyers can book the vehicle by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000 either through Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships or on the company's official website.

The updated Brezza may receive a host of cosmetic enhancements, additional features, and possibly a new turbo-petrol engine, making it one of the most anticipated launches in the compact SUV segment this month.

Revived styling with feature-rich cabin

Maruti Suzuki may give the Brezza a noticeable visual refresh. Spy images and reports suggest the SUV could feature redesigned front and rear bumpers, updated LED lighting elements, and a fresh set of four-spoke alloy wheels that add to its modern appeal. Inside, the cabin is likely to receive new upholstery, revised trim finishes, and an updated colour theme to create a more premium experience.

The feature list is also expected to grow significantly. Among the anticipated additions are a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Test mules have also been spotted with front parking sensors, indicating that convenience and safety are likely to receive equal attention.

Turbo-petrol engine could be the biggest update

The biggest talking point around the Brezza facelift is the possible introduction of Maruti Suzuki's 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. The same engine currently powers the Fronx, producing 100 hp and 148 Nm of torque. Reports indicate that it could be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

If introduced, the turbo-petrol unit would fill a long-standing gap in the Brezza lineup, as it is currently the only compact SUV in its segment without a turbocharged petrol option.

The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to continue alongside the CNG variant, giving buyers multiple choices depending on their driving styles.

Maruti Suzuki may also enhance the practicality of the CNG model by relocating the gas cylinder to the vehicle's underbody. This underbody setup is expected to free up valuable boot space, handling one of the common concerns for CNG buyers.

Expected price and competition

The new Brezza may carry a slight premium over the outgoing model, which is currently priced between Rs 8.26 lakh and Rs 12.86 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new SUV will continue to compete in one of India's most competitive segments. It will take on rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kylaq, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, and Kia Syros.
