Restoring trust-Modi govt ushers in era of fair examinations

The passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 marks a decisive step in protecting the dreams of millions of students. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made it clear that public examinations must remain fair, transparent, and free from the influence of paper leak mafias.

The amendment significantly strengthens the law by imposing tougher punishments on offenders, establishing fast-track courts, mandating time-bound investigations, and empowering Special Task Forces to tackle organised examination fraud. These reforms send a powerful message that those who attempt to steal the future of honest students will face swift and stringent action.

This national commitment to clean examinations finds a strong reflection in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh. Soon after assuming office, the government fulfilled its promise by conducting the Mega DSC recruitment and filling 16,347 teacher posts. More than three lakh aspirants appeared for the examination, which was completed with ‘zero paper leaks and complete transparency’.

The contrast with the previous administration is evident. For five years, thousands of B.Ed. and D.Ed. qualified aspirants waited in vain as DSC recruitment remained stalled. Today, Andhra Pradesh has restored confidence by proving that political will, administrative efficiency, and technological safeguards can ensure a fair recruitment process. Public examinations are not merely tests; they determine careers, livelihoods, and the nation’s future. Every deserving student must have the confidence that success depends only on hard work and merit—not on money, influence, or criminal networks.

The 2026 Amendment Bill is therefore more than a legal reform. It is a commitment to India’s youth that ‘their dreams will be protected, their talent will be respected, and their future will never again be held hostage by paper leak mafias’.

Together, the Government of India and the Andhra Pradesh Government are laying the foundation for a stronger, fairer, and more credible examination system.
