Two new PGDM programmes launched

Two postgraduate programmes — PGDM in Healthcare and Hospital Management and PGDM for Working Professionals launched, brought together academic leaders, industry representatives and healthcare sector stakeholders. The programme began with a welcome address by Dr Subir Verma, Director, FORE School of Management, followed by an address by Dr B B L Madhukar, President, FSM.

Dr Madhukar said the new programmes were introduced in response to changing requirements across business, healthcare and management education. He said the healthcare programme would address managerial, technological and patient-care aspects of the sector, while the programme for working professionals would focus on areas including AI, digital transformation and strategic leadership.

Dr Verma highlighted changes in healthcare driven by digital technologies, artificial intelligence, connected devices and data-based care models, noting the need for professionals who understand both management and emerging technologies.

P Dwarakanath, Executive Board Member, FSM, spoke about changes in healthcare over the past two decades and the growing importance of lifelong learning.

Professor Shilpi Jain, Dean (Strategic Initiatives & International Accreditations), FSM, said the healthcare programme focuses on management and the changing healthcare ecosystem. The 18-month PGDM for Working Professionals is designed to allow experienced professionals to pursue further learning without taking a career break. It includes AI, analytics, industry-focused learning, mentorship, certifications, a Data and AI Lab and international immersion.
