PM Modi urges youth to build a drug-free India

Hyderabad: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla underscored the critical importance of creating a drug-free society and urged young people to become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat movement on August 2.

He addressed the gathering as chief guest at the Nasha Mukt Yuva Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, organised by Mera Yuva Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris. The Governor emphasised that youth play a pivotal role in safeguarding society from substance abuse, calling upon them to contribute actively towards building a healthy, empowered, and developed India.

Welcoming attendees, MY Bharat Telangana State Director In-charge Ch Anvesh called upon youth to participate actively in the campaign and become equal partners in nation-building. He urged them to adopt a drug-free lifestyle, take the anti-drug pledge with utmost sincerity, and contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.

A key highlight of the event was the virtual message delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the Nasha Mukt Yuva Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan. Around 1,500 participants watched the address and subsequently took the Nasha Mukt Yuva Bharat pledge, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the nationwide movement against substance abuse.

The campaign highlighted the vital importance of youth participation in nation-building, encouraging young citizens to adopt healthy lifestyles while spreading awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug addiction. The event reflected the collective resolve of government institutions, social organisations, and youth to work together towards the vision of Viksit Bharat through a drug-free nation.

Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Brahma Kumaris Director BK Kuldeep Didi, Special Chief Secretary to the Governor of Telangana M Dana Kishore, DPS Chairperson M Komaraiah, Indian Navy Captain Shiva Singh, and MY Bharat Telangana State Director In-charge Ch Anvesh.
