Nalgonda to get CC roads, drains, and 24x7 drinking water: Komatireddy

Nalgonda: “Measures will be taken to provide cement concrete (CC) roads, underground drainage, and round-the-clock drinking water supply to every household across all divisions of Nalgonda town,” Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said.

Addressing beneficiaries at the Nalgonda Tahsildar office on Sunday after distributing Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques worth Rs 64.07 lakh to 64 recipients, the Minister highlighted ongoing development projects in the town.

He noted that CC road and drainage works have already commenced across divisions under the Municipal Corporation limits.

Referring to key drinking water initiatives, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recently laid the foundation stone for an Rs 83-crore drinking water plant, alongside sanctioning an additional Rs 300 crore for water supply infrastructure in the town.

Following Nalgonda’s upgrade to a Municipal Corporation, the Minister expressed confidence in securing up to Rs 1,000 crore in Central development funds.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, the Minister said the state government is providing ration cards and fine rice to all eligible residents. Additionally, 700 Indiramma houses have already been sanctioned, and eligible families owning land can apply for the housing scheme this year.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to the poor and women’s financial independence, he added that interest-free loans are being extended to empower women economically.

MLC Shankar Naik lauded the state government’s welfare schemes and credited Minister Komatireddy with driving comprehensive infrastructure development in Nalgonda.

Earlier in the day, the Minister inspected the progress of major drainage construction at Sai Nagar, instructing officials to expedite the work. He also reviewed projects sanctioned under the AMRUT-2 scheme for the Nalgonda Municipal Corporation.
