Tributes paid to educationist Seshu Kumar

Khammam: The Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) commemorated the fourth death anniversary of late Surapaneni Seshu Kumar on Sunday, a prominent champion of budget private schools, by organising a memorial meeting and Management Skill Development Programme here.

Private school correspondents from Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts paid floral tributes to the portrait of the late educationist and recalled his commitment to strengthening budget private schools. Speakers described Seshu Kumar as a visionary leader who worked for the welfare and development of private educational institutions.

As part of the programme, noted resource persons Enupuganti Prasad Rao and Kakarla Bala Prasanna delivered presentations on the theme ‘Future-ready School Management with Emerging Skills.’ They highlighted the need for schools to adapt to changing educational trends and equip managements with contemporary leadership and administrative practices.

The speakers stressed the importance of involving teachers and students in institutional decision-making, learning from failures through continuous evaluation, strengthening parent participation in school development, and promoting project-based learning to enhance practical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

Emphasis was laid on building students’ self-confidence by eliminating fear from the learning environment and shifting the focus from examination results to the overall learning process, noting that a strong educational process naturally leads to better outcomes.

On the occasion, TRSMA extended financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to the families of a private school correspondent and a private teacher who had recently lost their lives in separate accidents.
