Case filed against five for birthday celebration inside temple

TIRUPATI: A police case has been registered against five people, including a person identified as Nelson Mandela, for celebrating a birthday inside Sri Vedanarayanaswamy Temple at Nagalapuram in Tirupati district.

According to TTD, the group celebrated a birthday inside the temple by throwing money, which is against temple rules. They also allegedly carried mobile phones into the temple despite the ban on phones inside the premises.
The incident was recorded on a mobile phone, and the video was later posted on social media. TTD has also ordered departmental action against the temple staff who failed to remain alert and prevent the incident.
TTD stated that it will not tolerate any actions that damage the dignity and reputation of the temple. It said strict legal action will be taken against those who violate temple rules.
