Use Seed Melas to Procure Quality Seeds, Says Collector Dr Satya Sharada

WARANGAL: District Collector Dr Satya Sharada has advised farmers to utilise seed melas effectively and procure quality seeds to achieve higher yields during the Kharif season.

On Monday, the Collector inaugurated and inspected a seed mela organised by the Agriculture Department at the Rythu Vedika in Medapalli village of Nallabelli mandal.

During her visit, she examined various seed stalls and interacted with officials to understand the quality, availability, and usage of different seed varieties.

Addressing the gathering, the Collector urged farmers to purchase only certified seeds supplied by recognised institutions. She stressed the importance of obtaining a bill at the time of purchase and advised farmers to verify the details printed on seed packets before use.

She also directed Agriculture Department officials to create awareness among farmers on crop selection, proper seed usage, and scientific crop management practices. Farmers were encouraged to follow government guidelines and adopt scientific methods to improve productivity.

District Agriculture Officer Vijay Bhaskar, Horticulture Officer Srinivas Rao, Nallabelli Agriculture Officer, farmers, and officials from concerned departments participated in the programme.
