Prashant Kishor is one of the most popular political strategists, election consultants and politicians in India. Kishor was born on 20 March 1977 in the district of Rohtas in Bihar, India; he studied public health and started his work with the United Nations in Africa and Asia in the field of health and nutrition programmes. He has after that moved back to India and has become a political consultant.

Kishor came into prominence in 2014 when he helped Prime Minister Narendra Modi secure victory in the Lok Sabha polls. Later, he established Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) which collaborated with different political parties all over the country. He has worked with election campaigns of several leaders like Nitish Kumar of Bihar, Captain Amarinder Singh of Punjab, Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, M.K. Stalin of Tamil Nadu and Y.S. In October 2024, Kishor officially registered the Jan Suraaj Party, which further signaled his political career. This transitioned his role from political strategist to a full-time politician. The by-election in Bankipur is Kishor's first big test since the Jan Suraaj Party was established.
