OTT releases this week: Here’s what streaming platforms are bringing you

The first week of August promises to be a happy one for the viewers as the streaming platforms release an exciting array of thrillers, drama, horror, adventure, family entertainer, and romance films this week and over the weekend. Whether you are a fan of international series or are in the mood for a drama, a horror adventure, or a light-hearted romance film, this week’s OTT releases have something for everyone.

To start with, Prime Video has the awaited third season of Special Ops: Lioness while Netflix has a supernatural thriller, Mikael: Pemburu Dua Alam, a psychological drama titled Rao Bahadur and a sports comedy sequel, Gatta Kusthi 2. Netflix adds to its international content library, the supernatural fantasy thriller Mikael: Pemburu Dua Alam. In the film, Mikael, an elite police officer with a secret life of hunting jinn, discovers a horrifying massacre at a village wedding. As Mikael traces the jinn responsible for the killings, he uncovers an ancient prophecy about the arrival of the Jinn King who is set to invade the human world. As the hunter tries to find an artifact that can stop the invasion force before the seven guardians are destroyed, he is confronted with a range of mystical encounters along the way. The film stars Remy Ishak, Norreen Iman, Fabian Loo and Alicia Amin.

Rao Bahadur

For fans of psychological thrillers, the film Rao Bahadur is a haunting drama that follows the unraveling of a privileged aristocratic family, as well as the protagonist, after he discovers that distrust and paranoia have taken root in their lives. With the tagline ‘Doubt is a Demon’, the film led by Satyadev Kancharana, explores human emotions and the toll of betrayal as well as mistrust in relationships. Set in a crumbling mansion, the movie also stars Vikas Muppala, Deepa Thomas and Anand in pivotal roles.
