We are now in the second half of the year, yet the pace of smartphone launches shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, we are entering the busiest phase of the launch calendar: the Pixel 11 series will debut this month, followed by the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September and a wave of Chinese flagship launches thereafter.

Below, we highlight the smartphones confirmed for launch this month.

Pixel 11 Series

Launch date: August 12 (global), August 13 (India)

Google has officially confirmed that the Pixel 11 series will make its global debut on August 12, with the launch in India scheduled for August 13.

The company has also confirmed that the Pixel 11 lineup will carry a higher price tag than its predecessor due to rising memory costs.

Redmi Note 17

Launch date: August 6

After launching the Redmi Note 17 in China, Xiaomi is now bringing this mid-range phone to India.

The Indian model of the Redmi Note 17 will probably look like the version of the Redmi Note 17. So the Redmi Note 17 is going to have a 7-inch screen with really good picture quality. The Redmi Note 17 screen will be a HD+ OLED display. The Redmi Note 17 will also have a fast 120Hz refresh rate. The Redmi Note 17 can get really bright too with a peak brightness of, up to 1,800 nits. The phone is also expected to include an in-display fingerprint scanner and IP65 certification for dust and splash resistance. The Redmi Note 17 is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor and an Adreno 613 GPU. It may be offered with 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage, along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The phone will run on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16.

When it comes to taking picture’s, the Redmi Note 17 will probably have a 50 MP rear camera. This camera will have an aperture and it will also have an LED flash. The Redmi Note 17 will have a camera on the front too which will be an 8 MP selfie camera. The main rear camera and the selfie camera on the Redmi Note 17 are expected to be able to record videos in 1080p. These videos will be recorded at 30 frames per second. The Redmi Note 17 cameras are really good, for taking pictures and recording videos.

Connectivity options are expected to include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

Poco M8 Power

Launch date: August 4

Poco has already said that the M8 Power will be available in India on August 4.

The M8 Power is basically going to be the same as the Redmi Note 17 so it will probably have the things inside like the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, the big 7-inch OLED display that can show a lot of things at the same time with a 120 Hz refresh rate the good 50 MP main camera and the big 8,000 mAh battery that lasts a long time.

The price of the M8 Power and the Redmi Note 17 will probably be different. That is what will set the M8 Power apart, from the Redmi Note 17.

Vivo S2

Launch date: August 6

Vivo is bringing back its S series, in India with the Vivo S2.

The new Vivo S2 smartphone has a camera on the back of the Vivo S2. This camera is shaped like a pill. The camera on the Vivo S2 is placed horizontally, which reminds me of the Apple iPhone design. I think people will really like the style of the Vivo S2. The Vivo S2 is doing a job of making the Vivo S series popular again with the new Vivo S2.

The Vivo S2 is going to have a cool 6.83-inch curved OLED display. This display will have a 120 Hz refresh rate. The Vivo S2 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 processor. People think the Vivo S2 will also be able to handle dust and water because it will have IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The Vivo S2 will be a phone, with these features.

The camera setup on this phone is supposed to have a 50 MP camera. This 50 MP main camera does not have image stabilization. The 50 MP main camera will be paired with a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front of the phone there will be a 32 MP selfie camera, for taking pictures of yourself.

The device is expected to use OriginOS 6 which is built on Android 16. Vivo is likely to say that it will offer three years of Android OS updates and five years of security patches. The Vivo S2 is also expected to have a 7,000 mAh battery that can charge using 44 W wired charging.
