Former IAS officer K.K. Chatrath impressed by Kakatiya heritage in Warangal

WARANGAL: Retired IAS officer K.K. Chatrath from Odisha, belonging to the 1967 batch, visited the historic Warangal Fort on Tuesday and lauded the grandeur of Kakatiya architecture. He said preserving this rare heritage for future generations was essential.

Chatrath said he came to Telangana after learning about the Kakatiyas and the historic structures in the Warangal region through Google, and wanted to see them in person. He said the historical monuments, cultural heritage and tourist spots in the combined Warangal district had left a deep impression on him.

He also visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ramappa Temple, the Ghanpur temples and Shanigaram Shiva temple as part of the tour. Chatrath praised the sculptural excellence of the Kakatiyas, saying their craftsmanship continues to astonish the world, and stressed that protecting such heritage is the responsibility of every citizen.

District Tourism Officer Shivaji, Kila Warangal guide Ravi Yadav and officials from various departments accompanied him during the visit.
