PKOC-2 allocation marks new chapter for Singareni: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy congratulated workers, trade union representatives, and management of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) on securing the PKOC-2 (Prakasam Khani Opencast) Dipside Coal Block near Manuguru in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on August 3. Speaking in New Delhi following the allocation, G Kishan Reddy described the development as a major milestone strengthening Singareni long-term growth and fulfilling a long-standing aspiration of the company.

The Minister noted that following recent allocations of the Naini Coal Block in Odisha and Tadicherla-2 Block to Singareni, fulfilling the demand for PKOC-2 Dipside was a key responsibility as a son of Telangana. The auction process concluded successfully on Monday, paving the way for the allocation. The PKOC-2 Dipside Block contains approximately 180 million tonnes of coal reserves and is expected to produce six million tonnes annually over a mine life of 25 years, creating jobs for nearly 2,000 people. The high-quality G-8 grade coal is projected to generate over Rs 43,000 crore in revenue, while contributing more than Rs 10,500 crore to the State Government through statutory levies.

G Kishan Reddy stated that allocating three consecutive blocks positions SCCL better to meet South India coal requirements while strengthening Telangana energy security, enhancing company financial strength, and reinforcing job security for employees under Prime Minister Narendra Modi leadership.
