WARANGAL: Mahabubabad District Superintendent of Police Dr Shabarish, urged students to set high goals and pursue them with discipline, self-confidence, and self-control. He called upon them to stay away from bad habits and focus entirely on their education.
The SP was speaking as the chief guest at a student motivation programme organised by TRSMA at Balaji Gardens in Mahabubabad district. Nearly 3,000 students from various schools participated in the event.
Prior to the programme, district police conducted awareness sessions on drug abuse prevention and road safety. Videos were screened on LED displays highlighting the harmful effects of ganja and other narcotics, the importance of traffic rules, wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers, and the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Shabarish said that students must respect laws and follow safety norms to grow into responsible citizens. He emphasised that having a clear goal in life, coupled with discipline, confidence, and self-control, is essential for success. He noted that self-control plays a crucial role in achieving one’s ambitions.
Sharing his own academic journey and experience of clearing the UPSC examination, the SP said his father was his main source of inspiration and guidance. He stated that with family support, dedication to studies, and unwavering focus on goals, every student can reach great heights.
Explaining with an example, he said, “To complete a 100-metre run in record time, one must first practise 1,000 metres. Then achieving the actual goal becomes easier.” He encouraged students to set bigger goals and work consistently towards them.
Stressing that the future lies in the hands of students, he advised them to utilise time effectively and concentrate on studies. He also warned them to stay completely away from ganja and all forms of substance abuse. Good thoughts, positive friendships, and a disciplined lifestyle pave the way for success, he added.
