Warangal police recover 28 stolen bikes worth Rs 25 lakh, two held
Warangal CCS and KUC police arrest two accused involved in serial bike thefts
Hanumakonda: The Warangal CCS and KUC police arrested two persons allegedly involved in a series of two-wheeler thefts and recovered 28 stolen motorcycles worth around Rs 25 lakh.
The accused, identified as Donthula Prashanth Kumar (20) and Durgam Sai Karthik (21) of Mancherial district, were nabbed during vehicle checking while travelling on a suspected stolen motorcycle. Police Commissioner N. Swetha said special teams were formed after a rise in bike thefts under the Warangal Police Commissionerate. Based on technical analysis and interrogation of the accused, police recovered the motorcycles from Munipally village and areas near Elkathurthy. The recovered vehicles include Honda Shine, Hero Splendor, Hero Glamour, HF Deluxe, Bajaj Pulsar and Honda Hornet motorcycles stolen from Warangal, Karimnagar, Hyderabad, Rachakonda, Siddipet, Ramagundam and Jayashankar Bhupalpally.
Police are identifying the rightful owners and continuing the investigation. Commissioner Swetha urged the public to use vehicle safety locks and promptly report suspicious activities.
